I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would! Although it could easily have been a book of half the length I think. I went back and forth with the core mystery throughout the narrative, but I actually spent more time reflecting on Grace's upbringing and her narrative voice, which is really strong.

Pet Theory for this book: MARY WHITNEY ISN'T REAL

This is most definitely a dark book. All of the mystery surrounding Grace (in real life and the book) had me challenging everything that was presented. This book screams untrustworthy narrators. At every turn I was finding myself questioning what was happening which I am sure Atwood did on purpose to mimic how the story was unfolding for people at that time.

Overall a fantastic read but definitely not one for those looking for a lighthearted or warm book.
