Yup, Jack is still an asshole and he pretty much deserves everything that's been happening to him lately.

This spinoff series is starting to make me worried that I liked the Fables series at all. Jack is an awful character and is completely unrelatable even in a voyeristic sense. He is constantly womanizing and stealing, but Willingham never sells it or makes it attractive, because how am I supposed...

I don't love Jack but this volume was so much better than the last. It took me a month to get to this one because I disliked the last one so much.

Jack proves his appalling nature by corrupting the Snow Queen and therefore making her one of the villains of Fables. At least he gets slapped by a lot of women who are too sensible to fall for his pick up lines. He also starts his long-term abuse Gary, the goodhearted person he met in the Fables prison (otherwise known as Golden Boughs Retirement Home).

*Jack é sem dúvida uma das personagens mais divertidas e esta série permite ao leitor libertar-se um pouco do peso e do drama da saga original;
*Ao mesmo tempo, com estas aventuras vamos conhecendo mais localizações e personagens;
*É engraçado como no fim de cada história ele acaba a fugir de alguém e é nessa fuga que ele encontra a próxima aventura;
*Fiquei curiosa com a história do "Jack Frost", será que vamos ter um mini Jack Frost nas próximas histórias;
*Also tentar vender pedras mágicas que se transformam em sabonetes, Jack? xD

So it looks like the Jack spinoff has a format:

1. Have Jack act like a remorseless, womanizing cad--not in a good way.

2. Have Jack suffer grotesque injuries that he walks away from to emphasize his celebrity status.

3. Have Jack acquire stupid amounts of money.

4. Have Jack lose stupid amounts of money.

The end.

Ughhhhhhh.

Main problem with this series: Jack is an unlikeable bumface of a character. That's a pretty big problem.

Best bit of this book: the Office reference. Following that, the bits that were about Lumi because they tied into the main series.
