I requested this book from the library back on November or December 2020. My hold finally came through in July, seven months later. I thought it would be some tome of a book that all the people before me were slogging through. Nope. It is just a sweet 32-page children's book about gifts for our parents and family love. I have no idea what took the library so long to get it to me. Get this one at Christmastime and read it as a family.

This is a short story by Pearl Buck about a young man wanting to give back to his father on Christmas Day. His father took care of him throughout his life and the young man wanted a meaningful gift for his father that would embody thanks and appreciation for all that his dad has done. This book shows the true meaning of Christmas.

I've used an obviously lavishly illustrated edition to record this read, but this story is very short.

I read it here https://www.altogetherchristmas.com/stories/ChristmasDayInTheMorning.html This site has some other Christmas goodies as well.

This story about a teen from a poor family wanting to show his father how much he loved him at Christmas time. It shows beautiful sentiments without being cloying.

My first read of anything by Pearl S. Buck and I really enjoyed it.

I have been familiar with this story since I was a child but had no idea that Pearl S. Buck had written it. It is a beautiful story of love and service--one that is definitely a classic.

A moving tale of love, that once received it can be given again and again. Only love can cultivate more love.
