Neverland

A very appealing reimagining of the Peter Pan characters and motivations. I wish that this had been longer, but I suspect that that was the intention of the author to create interest in the next installment.

I really wanted to enjoy this but it felt like a massive prologue. Why does Hook hate Peter? Why is she worried for the girls? I wanted more but it just left me with loads of questions.

No. Just no. I'm very happy I did not waste money on this. I only got it on Kindle because it was free. Now I know why.

I taught English as a third language to a bunch of kids a few years back, and the worst essays I graded seem worthy of a Pulitzer compared to this.

This book was absolutely horrendous. The writing was terrible -it felt like the author just grabbed a thesaurus, found some fancy-sounding words to replace "look", "small" etc... And then used nothing but the most pretentious synonyms to make the text look more polished.

The plot? Non-existent. I still don't know what was happening in the book and I have zero interest in finding out.

The main character? I don't even know how to describe her because she is all over the place. But maybe the author wrote her this way, you may ask. Nope. I've read books where the narrator was all over the place for good reasons. This was not it.

I like the fact that you get Hook's view of Neverland and how it's like to live there. I loved the aspect of Hook being a female and being portrayed as a male to make her sound more menacing in the view of the lost boys. The description of the ship was great.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I didn't know that this was a retelling until I started reading it. This is a great story. Hook is a woman in this story and Peter started to age. I was enjoying this read.

Nothing, absolutely nothing, rivaled my abhorrence of Peter Pan.
Leaden hatred anchored me to misery.

Fabulous narration and an entertaining spin to the Peter Pan mythos.

Was great on audiobook. Narrator had a good voice and good flow. This was a fun take on a classic story.
