Cute but overwrought

This was miles better than the first in this series but still not up to Quinn's best writing. The characters are endearing and the marriage of convenience plot structure is entertaining, but there is too much unnecessary drama, especially in the end. It just feels absurd and out of place, dropped into the end like that. I would have rather had more about Ellie's financial acumen and what came of it.

**** don’t mind me reviewing my ratings ****

This really was by far the funniest romance book Julia Quinn wrote so far! It made my giggle a few times.

Ellie is very relatable - being married to a man who has the reputation of jumping from one lady to another certainly isn’t easy to deal with!

I really loved aunt Cordelia & Judith.

Charles does have some major anger problems though

Just re-read this book last night. I still love the meet cute, it was original. Charles & Eleanor and so likeable and as it turns out made for each other. Such an enjoyable read.
