A poetry book from a muslim perspective, there were some lovely one liners but it was mostly hard to read. Most poems were too vague and so lacking any kind of imagery. As a non Muslim I found it mostly boring aside from one or two poems than gave some perspective. I am probably not the target audience for this book.
‘I became so scared of the future,
That I forgot about the present.
I became so worried of judgement,
That I completely changed myself
To someone who I was not.
I became so scared of the fear
That I lost focus on life itself.’

I’ve fallen in love with F.S. Yousaf. It was nice reading this - Yousaf’s first book - and really seeing his growth as a writer. This was enjoyable.
