I have a physical copy of this book but I'm so glad I listened to the audiobook. It was like listening to an extended episode of 'stand up for the classics' and I am a huge fan of the podcast. Haynes' writing is informative without be ng pretentious, is sometimes funny but always engaging and relevant. She is quickly becoming a "will always read" author for me.

i wish this was longer, i felt like it was a synopsis of stories. it just felt a little surface level and i wish there was a deeper discussion on the topics and myths. overall, i think this is a great starter book for those wanting to get into greek mythology and retellings.

It was a very informative read. It is a bit on the academic side, so I think this would be great for students as well.

I really enjoyed this collection. What I knew about these women going in varied a lot, but all of the essays were thought-provoking and engaging. I also really liked Haynes's writing style, and the funny asides sprinkled in. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone interested in Greek mythology.

Loved this! It goes into so much depth on commonly overlooked women in Greek mythology and just adds so much context and background to their characters. Women have always been in the centre of stories, but we seem to have forgotten it and written them out.
