I don’t think any other book has ever made me as constantly and consistently uncomfortable throughout the entire thing. You simultaneously feel bad for all characters but horrified and disgusted by all their actions
(except for Richard, Curry and Eileen who may be the only decent morally uncorrupted characters).
Couldn’t stop reading tho, pace was excellent and finished it over a weekend.

This book made me realize that dark, disturbing thrillers may not be for me. The story was well written and I was gripped by the plot, so I did enjoy it in that sense. It was just a little too disturbing for me, and made me physically wince at certain parts. I also had an inkling about the ending about halfway through, so I didn’t find the big plot twist at the end to be shocking.
