Trop trop bien j’ai adoré quoi qu’un peu court mais l’écriture et les illustrations sublimes et j’ai fortement apprécié la note de l’auteure a la fin !!!

Gorgeous art accompanies an in-depth look at the woman who created Frankenstein.

A very nice kids' bio of Mary Shelley, which concentrates on the value of one's imagination in shaping stories. Bailey briefly touches on Mary's childhood and early life before she elopes with Shelley, enough to show she didn't have an idyllic life. She ignores the free love aspect of her relationship with Shelley, Claire, and Lord Byron, which is appropriate for the target age. There is a much longer synopsis of her life in the back, along with a bibliography.
The illustrations, in dark, earthy, matte colors lend to the atmosphere on that "dark and stormy night". They are worth lingering over, and have a feel of the 19th century in them.

The illustrations are stunning and dark and brilliant, but the text does a wonderful job at giving a nice intro to Mary Shelley, and the back matter offers even more great detail.
Worth a look for the illustrations alone, but Shelley's life is pretty amazing, too.
