Una trama policiaca muy interesante y bien llevada que combina muy bien con el costumbrismo siciliano de Camilleri y los dramas personales e inquietudes de Montalbano. Se lee con agrado y engancha hasta el final.

Although 4th in the series, this was the first Montalbano mystery I've read.

Inspector Montalbano is a gruff, no nonsense, methodical detective. Like Sherlock, he can be abrasive to those he feels are inferior but his keen observation skills uncover clues that led to uncovering who the murderer is. With Voice, we are pretty quickly thrown into the murder when Montalbano finds a beautiful, naked young murdered woman. During his investigations, Montalbano uncovers multiple suspects and must figure out how to maneuver around finding the killer while dealing with his politically ambitious superiors and peers.

Although the pace is slow at times, the characters and mystery kept my interest throughout the book. I did get a little confused in the beginning with all the characters being introduced, but once I was able to figure out who was who, the story became the prominent force. Mr. Camilleri's description of the towns and village provided an excellent visual and I enjoyed riding along with the characters. I am a little confused about Montalbano's relationship with his girlfriend/fiancee, but maybe this is better explained in the books prior to this one.

A nice series that I look forward to continuing.

I enjoyed it but nothing stuck out. A fun and short read.

Il primo libro della serie del "Commissario Montalbano" che mi ha lasciata un po' "meh". Era focalizzato su troppi argomenti allo stesso tempo secondo me, e tutto in modo non troppo accurato.

The answer sort of conveniently fell into his lap in this one, but still overall a fun read and will continue the series!

Didn't expect the conclusion of the case for this one. Though I did anticipate Salvo's personal story going the way it did. The old woman Clementina is a nice side characters addition to the usuals.
