I really want to say that this was a great and wonderful read, but in the end it was just ok. There were some great parts in it and at times I felt that it could be a completely amazing story but while enjoyable it just fell a little short of that point for me. Still 3 stars.

I really enjoyed this book. This is only the second historical romance I have ever read but now I really want to read more. This book was really hot and very erotic. I really liked the connection between the main characters and how they end up in each others lives. Their first meeting is one of the best introductions I have ever read - sexy! Looking forward to reading more in this series!

Very interesting read!! Its been years since I have read Lavinia Kent, but this surprised me in how well I liked the tone of it. Even though the first bedroom scene together is very long, it still has a more "romance novel" feel to it then a erotic feel which is what I was expecting. Both character were utterly likable and sweet at times.

I don't normally read Historical Romances. I have read a few, some good, most stilted and boring. I can not say that about this book. It was amazingly well written. It was never boring. Fast paced, the words and conversations flowed with ease.
The main characters, Louisa and Geoffrey, were well defined. They were both interesting and complex. I found Louisa to be brave and strong. She knew what she wanted and did what she needed to do to accomplish her goals.
Though Geoffrey showed and taught Louisa about passion, it was Louisa who taught Geoffrey how to let go of things you can't control. I would love to say more, but I don't want to give the story away.
This story is very provocative and most definitely mature.
The love making scenes were truly EROTIC. They were sensuous, hot and risqué. I warn you now, you WILL 'Fan Yourself, and gasp 'OH MY'. You will definitely feel 'The Heat'!
There was often amusing scenes that made me grin. Others that filled me with dread of what may happen. It kept me on my toes and completely engrossed. I could not put it down.
I highly recommend this book to all Adult Romance Lovers.

This book has some well developed charcaters, well written sex scenes, and decent dialogue. Some scenes were too wordy and I found myself bored and skimming.

There was a nice premise in the book and i could've rated it higher but the long drawn sex scenes specially the first encounter between Geoffrey and Louisa really spoiled it for me so much so that I have to skip a few pages just to get it over and done with. The mild BDSM BETWEEN H and h is not a plus points as I'm not really into this kind of thing. Overall the book was ok but cannot hold my attention for long.
