I’m in so, SO much pain and heartbreak from the ending of this book. never thought i’d cry for this series but…i was so attached to the characters and everything that happened just felt like a punch in the face, gut AND heart. I loved this series so much though it caused me so much pain! the 4.5 stars is definitely deserved! I am never recovering ❤️‍

This series broke me… it literally broke me.

I hated Rin from the very beginning, but now I weep for the ending of this story.

Overall, this series is a 5/5, this one is a 4/5. I loved a lot of The Burning God, but several parts of the plot were repetitive and dragged out. The Trifecta’s end, the introduction of the new shamans, and Rin and Nezha’s confrontations on the battlefield were frustrating at times and didn’t feel like they quite met their full potential.

But!! I loved this book and I adore this series. It’s easily one of my all time favorites. Not exaggerating when I say I almost died of grief while reading the last 20 pages—that’s the most devastating and fitting ending I think a person could write. This series will stick with me for a long, long time.
