I loved this book when I was a kid and I can't say it aged perfectly but it's sweet and made me tear up. Funnily enough I don't remember that the main plot in the second act is really about Crash dealing with the illness of his grandfather, with whom he is very close. This is probably why it was such a good book to me when I was a tween, as I was going through something similar.
