This is a bare-bones account of various crusades between the 11th and 15th centuries. The book is a timeline in sentence form that discusses religiously motivated military campaigns in the Middle East, the Baltic and Spain. There was simply too much information in too few pages and text is void of analysis after a promising introduction. At the very least this book demonstrates that the crusades weren't restricted to a single region or waged against a single ethnicity and religion.
