I enjoyed this one...for whatever reason I just didn't get that "I can't stop reading" feeling on this one.

In this story Cassel is still trying to get along with his family, stay away from the con, finish school, and figure out what to do with Lila. I won't recap everything but there are added complications that come up that make these things tough to do.

I still like the characters - Cassel is resourceful and smart and his friendship with Sam and Daneca is good for him.

The story moves forward and despite the length of time it took me to get through this one, I am looking forward to see what happens in the next book just based on how things were left at the end of this one.

I would rate this anywhere from a 3-3.5 stars.

Im not sure if I preferred this one over the first. I think this was less plot driven and less action but I really like the guys friendships so character wise is has improved.

Loved this second book in the trilogy. The romance element was really well-done and while I liked the first one better, this one set up the third book with an awesome conclusion.

3.85 estrellas.

Review first published on my blog The Fictional Reader

I read the first book in May, and didn’t want to leave too much time in between books (see my review of the first book here). Well, I actually listened to the audio book. So when I was planning my trip to Dublin in the beginning of October, I thought it would be the perfect time to listen to the sequel (I traveled alone).

I love the audio books of this series. They are narrated by Jesse Eisenberg -which now means I associate Jesse with Cassel. Cassel really is a young Jesse to me. I love his narration, although I know a lot of people won’t. If you don’t like his voice, or the fact that he talks faster and a tad more quiet than most people, don’t listen to it. But I love it! It really gets me immersed in the book.

I loved the fact that this book allows us to get to know some of the characters better. Especially Lila and Daneca were interesting to me! One from a worker/mafia family, one from a family fighting for worker rights (by worker, I mean curse worker and not a factory worker).

The focus on the characters does show in the mystery aspect. Each book has a mystery/thriller aspect, and I have to admit I enjoyed the mystery of the first book more. I was more involved in it. I guess, in a way this book suffered a bit from middle-book-syndrome.

I can’t wait to see what Cassel gets up to in the final book! I hope it’ll end up being my favorite of the trilogy. So far, this book was my least favorite.

Much like its previous installment, Red Glove is a book that you will be unable to put down till you are finished and makes you await eagerly for its sequel.

Pretty good. Its been a little while since I read the first book, [b:White Cat|6087756|White Cat (Curse Workers, #1)|Holly Black|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1358274572s/6087756.jpg|6264661], but it all came right back to me and it was just as nice to read as last time. I like the story and the characters, especially Cassel. There were a lot of twists in this story, and I can honestly say that I did not see the end coming!

This book is just as fun and interesting as its prequel, White Cat. My recap of the first applies mostly to this book as well.

I loved the mystery in this story. It's not obvious how the story will end, though hints are provided throughout.

Another aspect of this book I liked a lot were the moral implications of Cassel's actions. He spent a reasonable amount of time trying to decide not only what the smartest decision was, but also what was the right one. In such a complex society, there is little black and white, and I was happy that the book addressed many of this issues, since alternate universes often ignore many of the things we would question.

In a nutshell, Holly Black delivers a middle-of-triology book that is just as good as the first.
