I love Rory and Kris together - this book is a slow burn, brother's best friend, secret crush trope and it works so well! Add in that they are both hockey players on the same team, roommates and that the whole thing is set in my hometown of Toronto and well...

I discovered this series midway through, and I am so glad I did. Likeable characters who find each other and support each other through life on their way to an HEA? Sign me up.

In this one, Kris Xappa is dealing with bad press, while Rory Stanton is dealing with bad balance - somehow he’s managed to fall off a 6-foot ladder and break his leg right before the season starts. The two have a history (Kris is Rory’s brother’s bff since childhood), and so of course Kris tells Rory he can recuperate at his place instead of staying alone. Together they deal with the bad press and the bum leg. They connect as friends and more than friends. And they learn about what makes them happy besides hockey and each other. With a side of cuddles and waffles. A heartwarming, satisfying read, with some good hockey scenes given up like a cherry on a dessert waffle. Rory would approve.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

It was nice not a very slow burn but they it was a well rounded romance and I mean they are fluffy and cute Kris and Rory.

This is one of my favorite books in this series! I mean all of them are fantastic, but this one got to me in a different way then the others did. I loved everything about this one and I just wanted to live between its pages. One of the things that I really loved about this one was that we got a pansexual main character! And really in general, this series has been one of the best for having a huge variety of lgbtq+ characters. Especially the ones that don’t have a lot of representation.

Kris was so lovely throughout this whole book even with all the shit that got piled on him. I hated every time someone posted something about him that was out of context or just a straight up lie or when he was outed by the media. I’m just glad he had Rory to lean on. And Rory was a literal ray of sunshine! Even after breaking his leg in the dumbest way possible. He deserves all the waffles and cuddle he could ever want. I loved that he was able to lean on Kris when he was hurting. I also really liked that we got to explore Rory’s childhood memories, both good (his big brother’s best friend {Kris} standing up for him, painting miniature trains, hockey) and the bad (bullying to the point of having to move schools). I also loved that we got to see Kris building his charity and all the struggles that came with it.

This book was just lovely. I swear, each book in this series is better than the next. And I can’t wait to see what else is in store for this series. Two-Man Team is getting five stars from me! 😊
