On re-read, this installment had a lot more visceral on page rape than I ever remember being in the series. Urban fantasy in general has that as a theme but this was a lot. There's a bunch of meta things going on in this installment and we have a definite shift to focusing more on that than the monster of the week stuff, and a lot of important future players get introduced in this one. But ultimately it was so fast paced and things moved so quickly while not that much in the overall scheme of things happened, so I didn't enjoy it quite as much as previous installments.

When I originally read this I was more interested in all the police work than the interpersonal info/dramas but this read I'm more invested in all the interpersonal stuff lol
