** I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the Author **

First of all, the story is a great idea. Hellion is a new take on angels and demons with their ancient rivalry constantly in the way, which is what drew me into the story immediately. Not to mention the cover is beautiful and the author has a great way with words, but I feel like the plot of this one was a bit rushed, leaving behind gaps. Especially when it came to describing certain events, the time line also feels rushed. Other than that, the book stands solid on it's own. It's a great read that I wish I had picked up sooner.

The characters are fleshed out well, Sera and Colin are very well developed characters with realistic problems, their relationship is one of my favorite things about this novel aside from the fantasy aspect of it all. The side characters are well developed as well, they stand strong on their own and have purposes for the plot, they're not just meager bystanders for sake of pushing conversation along which definitely stood out in the story. The writing was beautiful as well, descriptive and imaginative.

Stanton carves out a new type of romance genre in this book, leaving a burning romance and promise of exciting adventure. The characters are put to the test, dragging the reader along as they face off between Heaven and Hell, it's a breath of fresh air in a stale genre. If this became a series, I would most definitely continue it on. I have never read anything by Rosalie Stanton before, but this makes me curious to start looking into her other works. Hellion is well written, just didn't entirely scratch the itch I had when I first read the synopsis of the book.
