A really enjoyable historical fiction of woman scientist Elizabeth Zott who faces misogyny in the 1950's/1960's. A scientist who does not want to be married or have children falls in love with Calvin who dies leaving her single and pregnant. She had her research stolen and is fired from her scientist job, but lands herself a TV Cooking show that empowers women. I particularly liked the multiple points of view, especially the dog six thirty Great stuff

Beautiful read. I really struggled to get into this novel and was close to dnf-ing. I’m glad I didn’t!! The first 1/4 of the book felt and bit slow and was very depressing, however, as i read on it got better and better. The found family trope is always a fav and I loved that all of Zotts friends accepted and loved her for who she is!

The writing is good- it kept me engaged in spite of me not really liking the main character. But I get very annoyed when every single other character is one dimensional. Cal was okay . The only character I really liked was Six Thirty, but he wasn’t enough for me to keep going. Maybe I’ll pick it up again someday, but at this point I don’t really get why it’s such a popular book.
