I’m not sure… 3.5 stars I think
This book is not what it seams. If I had known it was about mental illness I wouldn’t have read it now, it came very close to home.
The first part was weird but made sense, I really hated the husband and the patriarchalism with which the wife had to deal. I totally got her. The second part became even weirder, but was in a way beautiful. The last part was downright rough. If you are close to someone with an eating disorder, I would refrain from reading it.

Just very unsettling and uncomfortable. I almost only read dark books but I found this one affecting my mood quite noticeably in a way I really didn’t like so I put it down. I was almost finished so perhaps I’ll pick it back up down the road and finish the last 40 pages or so but not for awhile
<I ended up completing the book, I did find it engaging and it really has a way of pulling you into it and into the minds of these different characters, however it remains deeply unsettling for the entirety of the book. Perhaps as a person who has struggled with certain mental health issues described in this book, it just affected me really uncomfortably, and I don’t believe this will ever be on a re-read list for me.>
