Too violent and hard to get attached to any characters.

Important to know before reading: this story is told through a bunch of short story-like chapters. We follow a mysterious person who's looking for someone, but a lot of the story is told through the different perspectives of the people she meets on the way. This affects the reading experience a lot, so if you're expecting a more standard story it could affect your enjoyment of the book.

I liked it, especially liked the different characters you meet through the first half of the book. The ending was hopeful, which I liked seeing as climate change is a theme in the book. The storytelling changes a bit towards the end. It's not a bad change, but because of the format of the first half the ending itself felt a bit rushed.

Still, worth a read if you like western-ish space settings, short stories where you get to know very different and interesting characters for a short while, and you want a (kind of) hopeful look on the future and climate change.

I just did not have the motivation to keep reading this. I was making my way through it really slowly, and didn’t feel pulled to keep following the story. I think I don’t enjoy the amount of mystery/ only telling half the story and confusing characters. I would try another book by Grace Curtis though because I enjoyed Floating Hotel so much more and I might have completed this if I was more on it with reading at the moment.

I really liked this one! I really enjoyed the style of it, how we slowly come to know more about the characters and their history as the book goes on. Some sections were almost vignettes of the side characters lives, which I found fun.
