After reading the Devil’s Advocate and falling in love with Steve Cavangh’s writing, I had to read another one of his legal thrillers in the Eddie Flynn series. So when this was one of the picks in the Fully Booked book club this month, I jumped at the chance to read it 🤩

This book was set before the Devil’s Advocate so it was nice to get a look at how Eddie Flynn worked before he had a team working with him. I also loved seeing more of his con man skills in this book 🤩

Going into the book there are two storylines that take place. As the story goes on I kept trying to figure out the connection between the two. I loved this 🤩 I was completely captivated as the connections unfold and more plot twists are thrown in the mix! together

Having said that the pace of the book was a bit mixed. The pace would pick up and get dramatic and then die down again. I didn’t like this. It was a bit anticlimactic 😅 I also felt the ending was a bit dragged out.

Overall, I enjoyed the book and the final reveal really shocked me. But I thought the stories had some issues. I’m hoping the other books in the series aren’t like this since I have them all 😅
