Meredith is absolutely dealt a poor hand in love and life. She is left alone and must mold her own future. When she runs into Barry who she had to leave behind 10 years before she is thrown back into old emotions. It was refreshing to read a story with a heroine older than the hero. It was a fun romp in the country to a well deserved HEA.

Christi Caldwell has done it again. She manages to take a historical romance about parents wanting their son to find a bride and turn it into a heartbreaking story of lost love and found passion. Meredith hadn't seen Barry since he was a teenage boy and she had just turned 20. Her father had been let go by the Duke (Barry's parents) and within a year her father was dead and she was forced to find a way to support herself.
Spendinh 8 years as a matchmaker she is no placed in the position to find a match for Barry - the future Duke. Unfortunately, out of all the women his mothre had gathered togather at a house party, the one woman who truly suited him was her.
Meredith is a stron, independent woman, forced to support herself in a society when women rarely had opportunities. The mistakes and misunderstanding of the past weigh heavily on her when forced to retrun to her childhood home. The scenes between Barry and Meredith are some of the most beautiful I've read and I guarantee you won't finish this book without at least a few tears.
I received an advanced copy of this book.

A charming and predictable romance novel that brought a smile to my face. I want Lady Agatha's story!
