I don’t think I could read this probably because of school-
I just couldn’t find here writing good enough to draw me into the plot when i was already highly stressed about classes and needed a lift me up.
This book gave me a “lift me down”

I hadn’t read this book since it was assigned reading in junior high and definitely still enjoyed it this time around.
I still have my copy that was published in the 90s and the casual racism throughout so much of the book is astounding... I think there are newer editions that change the poem to being about soldiers rather than Indians... maybe they also take out the sprinklings of hatred towards First Nations people, Africans, etc. It would have been a much more enjoyable read if that were the case.
Despite initially having a strong memory about who the murderer was as soon as their name was mentioned at the beginning of the book, by the middle I was convinced I had misremembered because it just wasn’t adding up. And then by the end I realized I had been right all along, just missing the clues that had been left along the way.
In summary - great book, lots of fun, make sure to get a version that was published within the last decade.

I’m working my way through the Agatha Christie books in order and this is the best so far.

Well. Wow. Ok. I did NOT see that coming. I almost don't even believe the confession letter. Easy to read but enthralling. I have mixed feelings on vigilantes but could not get enough of the suspense.

I knew the story and the murderer and yet the hysteria was captivating

One of my all-time faves. The audiobook narrated by Dan Stevens is especially good.

I really enjoyed this book. I'm pretty sure Clue is loosely based on this story. You definitely choose a character to believe and then are surprised when you're wrong.

Too many characters not enough time Agatha....but I didn't guess the end so there's that.
