I set out for an adventure and got so much more.  With less adventure and much slower pace than expected. 
Female identity, queerness, mental health, and belonging are prominent in this saga set in the world full of violence, racism, homophobia and misogyny. 
The characters are diverse and different, each with their own complex background.

“No plot, just vibes” really fits here. Initially I was eating it up, but I was left wanting more

The premise was great and I liked the MC, but nothing felt fully developed. I was obsessed with this merry band of misfits—so gay! such gender fuckery! such unabashedly feminist energy!—but we never really got to know them. And I really wanted to know them! 

Where the book ended up going was good, but again, not nearly fleshed out enough. It all felt one-dimensional and ultimately left me disappointed

This was a really interesting book, unlike anything I’ve read prior. I appreciated reading a western that centered around strong female characters, and I found many aspects of this book interesting and compelling. However, I think execution could have been better and there were iffy aspects about the core messages.
