Listened to it as an audiobook on my daily commute. Narrator is good and very easy listen.

Another globe-trotting adventure with Remi and Sam Fargo. I love these two characters, a modern day mix of MacGyver, Lara Croft, and Nick and Nora (from the "Thin Man" mysteries. There's lots of jumbled clues to the historical mystery here, but the payoff is well worth the journey. A few places get bogged down with an information download concerning history, geography and the like. Still, there's plenty of derring-do to keep up the pace.

I have the same qualms about this book as I do about the first book: the female main character doesn’t have a whole lot of agency, and the male main character is always played out to be the hero… With that being said, I still love the adventure and the history and the puzzle pieces that are entailed in these books. I’ll be picking up the third one, and probably as an audiobook once again, because these Fargo Adventure books make an entertaining listen.

This was noticeably worse than the first book for me. It didn’t flow as well. There was relevant information revealed with no prior explanation and events seemed to just drop out of thin air. The only thing that saved this from being below a 3 was the ending.
I’m still a little confused as to why the whole plot with Garza lying about the statuette mattered. Even if the Mexican people were immigrants that doesn’t mean they can’t have their own culture and pride.
I’m hoping this is the worst of the series, because I can’t read many more like this.

Have been a long time Clive Cussler fan, but this one fell short. First time reading something that he has done with another author and not sure I will be quick to read another joint project of his. It wasn't bad, but felt it lacked detail at times and was choppy. Also, didn't really feel like I connected to the Fargos. There are some good qualities to the book though, just not Clive's best work.

I wouldn't say I'm a fan but it was nice enough. If you enjoy modern adventure mysteries then this book is right up your alley.

I would have followed this story soo much better had the audiobook discs six and nine not been mixed. Once I realized that - things finally came together. Extremely fast paced, filled with lots of historical trivia and knowledge and plenty of adventure. Husband and wife duo, Sam and Remi Fargo, are relaxing on the coast of Tanzania. While scuba diving they discover an old ship's bell and it kicks off a new adventure. While they think it's a fun mystery to look into, a corrupt official in Mexico takes the discovery as a serious threat and will do anything to stop the Fargos. Rather than they deter the couple, they launch on an adventure that will span continents and countries and cultures. Never a dull moment, though sometimes it would be nice if our protagonists weren't such rich know it alls.
