As with all the Seven Sisters books it takes a little bit of getting used to with the format. You sort of know the characters but suddenly reading the book from a new sister’s perspective takes on a new challenge. This one being from a narrators view and then a brand new character’s view a few chapters in had me thinking “hmm I’m not sure if I like this format” but I got used to it.

Going into the past, through the Irish war of Independence was fascinating and you could tell the Irish parts of the story were a huge part of Lucinda Riley’s life and perspective. As always, I’ve finished the book wanting to read and learn all about the period of history she brought so vividly to life, and wanting to visit the parts of the world she describes with such beauty.

The story is far fetched and often very difficult to fully grasp, and the dialogue is clunky. But I still find myself completely compelled, and rooting for all the characters.

Waiting enthusiastically for the final instalment!

The first two thirds of The Missing Sister were, I found, incredibly dull. Which is such a shame because the final third was amazing! Ended with the trademark cliff hanger, which left me impatiently waiting on the release of Atlas later this year.
