This book had been sitting on my shelf unread, and I finally brought it down the other day when I was in a state of intense despair. It was exactly what I needed to read, and Thich Nhat Hanh has left me feeling inspired and at peace. He had made the Heart Sutra so easy to understand and live!

This was an introduction for me into Buddhist thought and it was fascinating. The concepts are explained clearly and make you appreciate the complexity in the simplicity. I’ll be thinking about “interbeing” for a while to come.

A short and thoughtful commentary on a sacred text that definitely needs commentary to be understood in any capacity as a modern reader with limited knowledge of Buddhist philosophy. Worth reading, as Thích Nhat Hanh's explanation and analogies are as poignant as ever in this little book.

The single most precise and comprehensible teachings I've ever read or heard on emptiness.

Nothing exists independant of the rest of us. Non-duality, interbeing...the idea that we are all connected eliminates "us vs. them" thinking...there is no line between being and nothingness. A study of the Heart Sutra you can read in one sitting and study a lifetime.
