I really enjoyed this. The illustrations are vibrant and original, and there's so many things for readers to notice on the page. It feels like a celebration of everyday. I would try it in storytime, but I'm not sure which. Maybe early math?

I got this off an article of the best children's books of 2022 since good reads choice awards sucks and won't give children's books it's own category.

This one was fun and colorful, and I can see how it combines those who's minds are number focused and exploration and the world around them.

This picture book has amazing illustrations, showcasing a young boy's rural environment and what he admires about it on his way to school. There are lots of picture books about city life and about farms, but there aren't many about general, everyday life in a rural area. This book fills that gap beautifully, and even though the counting story is so spare that I think this would have worked better as a wordless picture book, the illustrations are so wonderful that I'm giving it five stars.
