uggggh, i hate that i had a 'yes, audrey!' moment there at the end because i hated her soooooo much. how do you think you're owed that money when fred's been tormenting his children their entire lives and you have the choice to come and go as you please (and not help them). she was so frickin' delusional but dan so clearly needs a stable, normal human (like lisa) to make him more of a stable, normal human so i was very much on board with: yes, jenna should get officially charged and prosecuted because otherwise, yeah, dan CANNOT fucking help himself and is like: how can i look very, very guilty? i'mma do that then *finger guns* this was tense, and i baaaadly wanted to know who did it the entire time, and the author did a good job of making me care about that because they were all unpleasant and privileged af but i def felt the worst for dan, who did the least to help himself, and who everyone agreed got the worst of their dad's vitriol and so i wanted the bullied kid to be okay but he was so WEIRD and bad at defending himself too that you were just like: omg, you deserve it, who talks about what an awful person the murder victim is at their funeral, you total moron, lol. anyway, liked this a lot while disliking allll of the characters, haha!

Multiple sources of narration from the many characters in the book was an interesting way to write the book, but could be a little confusing at times and you were always wondering if you could believe what you were reading…

Every character in this book was unlikable…it made it kind of difficult to care about who killed the Mertons for any other reason than just to find out who killed the Mertons.

The revelation of the killer was not surprising-this is not a book with a twist.
