Surprised how not mad at this I was. Action isn’t really my bag but I appreciated the conversations this brought up

I don’t even know where to start… or what to say this was fantastic and heart raising and heart breaking all at once. Definitely something you should go into without knowing anything. Just wow.

No one in this book talks like a human.

Thrillers always benefit from a sense of setting, something that Tremblay used to greater advantage in Head Full of Ghosts and seemed to forget about in this book. The cabin felt less like an isolated entity from the rest of the world and more like a lazy plot device.

I dug the Riders of the Apocalypse, but why have a main character be an expert on the subject and not utilize that for dramatic effect until the literal end of the book? No thanks.
