**I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.**

I couldn't wait to dive into this one. I loved the "taboo" aspect of the story.

Evan and Brennan didn't grow up together but after their mother's death they are reunited. There is a pull between the two something they both feel, the emptiness and longing. Brennan moves in with Adam hoping to find something in common. They are completely opposite. When Evan unexpectedly meets a man one night, sparks fly even if Evan is questioning if he's gay. Brennan is very out and not in the closet at all, when he meets a man at the gym, he's interested. When Brennan and Even realize the men they met, Alek and Luca are twins. The boys all become involved.

There was depth and emotion with the characters but I felt the story at some points really just started boring me. Unfortunately, the story seemed to drag on. I wish there was more taboo it may have held my attention more.

This is an extreme topic and not for everyone, but oh baby, did I love it! Evan and Brennan are identical twins who just found out that they are twins. Alek and Luka are twins that have been very close for their entire lives. They start dating each other separately, only to find out that they are dating brothers. Then things get very interesting . . . Alek and Luka's relationship is already established, but Evan and Brennan are building one, as well as the ones with their new boyfriends. This was hot, sexy, and worth the read if the kink is up your alley!

What makes this book interesting are the complex relationships between the characters.

The twincest element is also interesting in how very different it is for each of the couples.

Evan and Brennan are identical twins who didn't know the other existed until recently. They are both hurt and grieving and alone. Although they have felt that part of themselves has been missing (for Evan this had traumatic repercussions), they have no history together, no 'brotherly' experience to base their new relationship on.

Alek and Luka are also twins who have had a tough upbringing which saw them spiral out of control. It is during these darkest days that their relationship changes. They feel a tremendous guilt that accompanies the love they have for each other.

This book is about sex but it also about love. The brother's loving each other but the couples - Evan & Alek and Brennan & Luka - sharing an obvious deep love too.

The main focus is on the two sets of twins but there are also a few other characters that make an appearance and really add to the story.

There was fear but desire was much stronger.

!!This book contains taboo topics!!

I haven't read that many full length taboo novels, so while writing this review it might be the reason why I enjoyed this!

Writing a review (trying to explain) about two twinsets who kind of date each other (the non-taboo relationship) and start exploring their own desires regarding their other halves (the taboo relationship) is not that easy...(without spoiling everything)

Evan and Brennan (18) were growing up apart. (dumb parents are dumb).
While Brennan was raised by their late mother, their father was always on the road.
Lonely and longing for something missing, Evan is fighting early on depression, bullying and internalized homophobia. So when he discovers around his 18th birthday that he is in fact not alone, everything changes. Their dad invites Brennan, riddled with grief bc of their mothers death, to live with Evan, while he's still on the road.

Alek and Luka (27) are the other twinset we get to know. Both have their own demons, and learned from their past, but also came to term with an undeniable bond that they share with each other. And while both hook-up and date regularly they were never able to find "the right one"

Both twin sets have chance-meetings and start dating each other (non taboo relationship) it doesn't take that long, and they get to know each other. Interests and Desires are peaked, some encouraged and were the cause for a few very hot scenes with different dynamics.

Long story short, what intrigued me the most was Evan (which I declare to the Main MC). I think his character was the most defined and while the POV seemed to be quite equal, he caught my attention at all times. Evan was a lost soul who yearned for love and understanding, while fighting a ton of demons. I was rooting for him and I loved how the other protagonists contributed soothing energy.

Even in third person (so I was able to follow the different character names), it was a bit confusing to have fast paced change of views with additional pov's of a few side characters (friends) within a chapter.

I would say both couples (the non taboo ones) end by the end of book one on a HFN - the complex dynamic was interesting enough that I already got the next two novels and am excited to start them soonish (in a month or so ...)

Side note:
I buddy read this and the prequel "Only the lonely" with my friend and I have to say, after finishing this Novel, I could've totally lived without the prequel.
All the necessary points were mentioned in 'My Brother's Lover'.

This book is not for every reader out there, but for those of us who love a good twincest story? This is one of the best I've read. Not just for it's unique setup (one set of identical twins accidentally ends up dating another set of identical twins? sweet!), but because the characterization is just so damn good. Evan and Brennan have been raised apart and weren't even aware that they had a twin when they're suddenly thrust into living together. Both of them come with heavy issues and doubts about the situation. Alek and Luka, on the other hand, grew up close and only got closer due to hard circumstances.

I loved the sense of realism in this story. Even though in this first installment, all of the main characters are in a somewhat isolated environment (they're so busy falling in love and getting it on that they rarely come up for air), none of them is under the impression that what is starting to develop is anything but considered taboo by society and not easily accepted, in more ways than one. They're aware of what the consequences may be, and that makes everything even harder as they struggle to find a balance in their relationships. The complexities of what each of them, Evan, Brennan, Alek, and Luka, is to each other still isn't entirely worked out by the end, but they've made progress, and the novel certainly ends on a positive note.

I was expecting smut when I picked up this book, and instead I got an amazingly complex look into some characters who just want to find comfort and trust and love, even if it is in unusual places. There's still plenty to be worked out between these four men, and I can't wait to read more about it.

I had high expectations for this book. Now I finished it and I was dissapointed. Not so much about the incest part of the story. But I really didn't understand the characters and their decisions and feelings.
I was thinking about what it was that throw me off... and I found everything described in Vivians review
I can't say it better.

A good story but a bit insta-love for me. Lotsa smexing but then that's all horny teenagers have on their mind. For some reason I didn't feel an emotional tie to any of the MCs which was probably the main reason for the dropped star. It didn't make me want to rush and read the sequel which I have got. At 18 and first love will this relationship last or will Evan's self doubt kill it off?
