This was my first time reading Grady Hendrix and I understand now why he is so popular.  The story grabbed me from the jump and kept me intrigued with twists and reveals along the way.  I wouldn't say the book was scary, but there is plenty of disturbing content for those who are into that kind of thing.  The main character is well-written and being inside her traumatized brain is quite the experience.  I would highly recommend this book to fans of slashers, but anyone looking for a little dose of horror will also enjoy.

Not my favorite Hendrix book but still liked it. I found the main female character to be annoying the majority of the book. That being said it still had that comedic horror twist I love so much. I did like the little twisty twist at the end and the little snippets of news articles/flyers between each chapter.

This is a strange book, but I think that about most satires, and this is more of a satire than a horror book. I thought author Grady Hendrix made some odd choices, but it worked out for me because I could not predict anything. That made this book a fun read for me, and I’m looking forward to reading more by Hendrix.

I loved Southern Book Club by Grady Hendrix so I was really looking forward to this one. Final Girl had a similar style that made it easy to read, but it was lacking the character development and flow of Southern Book Club.

A lot of the plot felt convoluted and it was hard to keep each of the Final Girls and their stories straight. I appreciated the documents between each chapter that offered more insight into the characters and their experiences, but I think I would have preferred less time with Lynette running around/away and more time with each of the other characters.

I liked the overall theme which asked why women dying is considered entertainment and why men who kill women are made famous. It definitely makes the reader think. But I feel like Hendrix could have made this book a lot better with less focus on the tactical aspects and more on the relationships between the characters.

Love the concept and love all the clever Easter eggs, but it ultimately became kind of convoluted and I would’ve preferred to spend more time with each of the final girls.
