This world is a wild time and I adore the found family aspect and the total shenanigans Sam gets into.

I think this isn't as funny as the first book but it definitely still made me laugh with it's wildness and everyone in the book choosing not to use a filter when they talk because why the hell should they when they're that fabulous.

I seriously love Tiggy, everyone does, and I really want to see more page time for him. It was really great to see that Gary and Kevin really love each other even if they're going through a rough time. I love that we got to see a bit more depth to Kevin and see some of his vulnerabilities. Ryan being jealous is hilarious and I want more of him posing and trying to be all manly. Sam is still super enthusiastic and I loved seeing Sam go boom because he's so loyal to his friends.

Zero was a great addition and I adore everything about the whiny emo teenage dragon. I hope we get more of Zero in the next book.

Vadoma can leave and never come back, thanks. She's the quintessential villain and manipulates everything. If Sam falters for a second and even thinks about trusting her I hope Gary slaps him with his hoof.

I think the story line is pretty good and I like the traditional chosen one story and the prophecy playing out. I am worried there will be pain soon, the star dragon said there'd be pain, but I believe in TJ's love of eventual happy endings. Because every queer person deserves a happy ending, seeing as we don't always get one in real life.

TJ Klune is still and always will be my favourite author of all time, that man is brilliant and funny and kind and creates the most amazing stories.

Certainly didn't age well with it's portrayal of the romani population but other than that, this book was pretty neat in terms of drama

Het is een dik boek, maar er gebeurt zo weinig. De eerste helft zou zoveel korter kunnen. Verder is het een klassieke Sam of Wilds verhaal.
