⁣“Soon her tongue tentatively touched his, and he barely suppressed a groan as they tangled together and sent the kiss from hot to scorching.”⁣

Oh, this was a fun, naughty, sexy Christmas novella! The couple had tons of chemistry and the storyline, although succinct, worked really well. I love a fat heroine in a regency romance and a hero who worships her body. This was a kinky good time!

I mistook this for a cozy christmas romance novella, and it ended up being erotica dressed as historical romance which is REALLY NOT for me. But it's my own fault - I will read book descriptions and reviews even more closely in the future.

A fun novella, one I would actually have enjoyed seeing stretched into a full novel, actually. I thought the miscommunication in the story was a bit annoying but I understood it’s place in the story. The sex in this one was a bit too much for me and that does seem to be a pivotal part of the story but other than that I really enjoyed the characters and their stories.

Rachel Lindsay, a house maid from London has been banished to the country for her wayward behavior and due to a cruel trick she is stranded at a country in at Christmas, and inn that will only rent rooms to married couples. Arran Elliott, the new Marquess of Kyle is in a similar predicament, stranded at the country inn and single while waiting for his carriage to be repaired. Pretending to be married for the night (a few days at most) can't be that bad, right? Or maybe it is, because there is no way Arran can give Rachel up after he's had her after one scorching night.

This was a fun, historical, holiday novella, and it had been exactly what I wanted in the moment. It did feel a little ridiculous and over the top at times, but in the best of ways. Arran and Rachel were such fun characters and the way they seemed to just understand each other was great. If you like historical romanced and you like spice, I would definitely recommend trying to squeeze this one in for the holiday season.
