It was pretty good overall. I found towards the beginning it felt like the pacing was a bit off, but it straightened itself out eventually. The romance was good, even if I personally felt there could have been more tension both building up to it and in big moments of conflicts. That’s probably just me being nit picky though about romance. I did highly enjoy the fact of it being a queer romance as I can relate to it. I resonated quite a lot with Alden’s character and thought that was pretty cool. All in all, pretty good. I hope to see more from this author soon.

Even as a non-gamer, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I'm sure someone who is more invested in card games like the one in the book would love this book all the more for it. It was a wholesome story of finding love and first romance.

- Okay, I’m not sure I’m feeling this one. I just have no want to read it. What I’ve read so far has been fine so I don’t know why.
- It could be that it’s a bit too contemporary for my mood right now. Or maybe because it’s on kindle. Idk.
- It think it’s a temporary DNF for now. I might come back to it but for now it’s a no.
