As an introduction to empire and imperialism, this book is a good place to start although I still found it to be a slog. It has left me wanting to know more, but I definitely had to read it carefully to take it all in.

Decided to read this book when the news broke about Queen Elizabeth's death and while I did learn a great deal (more than I had ever managed to learn about the British Empire in all my years of education), I can't lieā€”this book was rough to get through.

Probably the most accessible piece of writing on how the British Empire has shaped who, speaking as a brit, we are, consciously or otherwise. Very informative with some great pieces of advice on how to move forward knowing this history
