a fine slow burn but fast-paced sapphic holiday romance, I liked the development of the characters even if I didn't love the characters themselves

5 stars - Audible edition - narrator: Lori Prince

What the heck Goodreads!? Where is my original review???

I have listened to this book 4 times now. I think I like it a bit. :) To me, this is the perfect toaster-oven romance. The level of pining is perfect. The falling in love with your best friend trope, so sweet and painful. The reveal at the end (no spoilers!) was also so sweet and perfect. Love this book.

When I am not sure what to listen to next and everything I have is not hitting the spot my two go to audiobooks are this one and Far From Home by Lorelie Brown.

4.5 - Do you know, when sometimes atmosphere is described as being charged or so thick, you could cut it? Well, it seems like Haley Cass and narrator Lori Prince tried for a new density record. Hannah and Caroline are perpetually thrown in situations which scream "KISS ALREADY!" or "HOW CAN YOU NOT SEE THAT SHE WANTS YOU?". It's fantastic. The story is wonderful and both characters are their very own person.

My only wish would be a longer ending / epilouge. After all the "will they, won't they" I wanted to read/hear more about their "FINALLY!". :)

A lovely and low angst slow burn romance, with characters you'll love and root for.
The third person present tense caught me by surprise, and I found it a little difficult to get into for a few pages. That didn't last long, tough, as the characters were quick to pull me into the story.

I'd recommend this book to anyone looking for a warm romance brimming with feelings, with a dash of holiday spirit on top.
