I liked this book and most definitely would’ve given it a four but there were some parts of the book that just pushed me to 3 that I won’t say so I don’t spoil it for anyone I loved how Merikh & Raewyn balanced eachother out so well this book was major Grumpy x Sunshine and I lived for it this was the first time I’ve ever read a book where a main character was blind and I kinda loved it the way she leaned towards him and he guided her was beautiful i can’t wait to read the next books in this series and this book was a happy ending with no cliff hangers and no love triangle or cheating it was definitely spicy🥴😏my goodness very spicy very aggressive very rough😏🤭this book has some parts I didn’t like but it mostly called to me I loved it right along with the other ones overall i rated this book 3 stars⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another absolute banger. I love the way Opal writes, her romances are so incredibly well done, her sexy scenes are 10 freaking stars, her well rounded characters, the love and effort she puts into the diversity rep, all of it. Delicious. I found myself reading the last chunk of this book slowly because I didn’t want to finish Raewyn and Merikhs love story. I also love how different each book, duskwalker, and bride has been.

My favorite in the series so far!
As always I was blown away by the writing of BIPOC characters, and I loved that we got a blind FMC! You can always tell so much research and time goes into these books, and I am always so impressed. This is a perfect example of what it means for a character to actually be the race they are written as. So much thought was given to Raewyns' relationship with her hair, and how she maintains it. I also loved getting to see more of a backstory and lore for how demons came to be.
Merikh is the smartest and most cunning Mavka, and his relationship with his family was heartbreaking to read. At the same time his interactions with Rae and how he hunts because of his intelligence was scary brilliant. (Also all of the smut in this book is just GRADE A CERTIFIED GROUND BEEF)
I really loved getting to read about magic and how different the Elven realm is to Earth. I can't wait to read more about it, and I would love another in the series to take place there!
My favorite part about this series is the overarching plot line we get, and how different each book is from the last. Hands down this is my favorite monster romance series! Always spicy and never boring, I can't wait until the next book come out! Is it too much to hope for a Latina as the next FMC?

Amazing as always!

Some of the language and exposition is slightly .... Clunky but it doesn't bother me too much

Contains:
🍆Special peen of course
🥳She's super tall! He's super tall! I love a tall power couple!
🌄She's a ball of sunshine and an ELF and she's blind AND she remains blind! Also she's Black! Hair care is accurate! The amount of sensitivity readers that are thanked is the most I've ever seen which is incredible for a MONSTER Romance. Contemporary needs to up the game imo.
💫 He's a huge grump and so cute and so evil but justified evil! Also the exposé regarding Jabez was amazing, especially after seeing him only as evil in the last book!
💓No pregnancy at all, but discussion about adoption right at the end
✨Amazing disability rep - another character uses sign language
🪢 Hot hot sex scenes. She takes almost all his peen - as we know from previous books humans need to be magically changed prior to PIV sex with Duskwalkers but she doesn't until they decide she'll take his KNOT yes his KNOT also SPANKING!!!
🌳 The elf world is incredibly described. Opal Reyne has an amazing skill for description and world building. I literally saw the elf world in my head so clearly. It was beautiful!

I'm so excited (and NERVOUS) for the next book!

✨ ARC Review - 4.5 stars ⭐ 4.5 🌶️ ✨

I fell in love with the Duskwalker Brides series from book one. But as I read through each book, enjoying them all, nothing quite compared to Orpheus and Reia in A Soul to Keep. That is until I encountered Merikh and Raewyn in A Soul to Guide.

This book and these characters have a grip on me. Every step of the way I was fascinated as Rae and Merikh explored together, kept their own secrets, and unfolded stories of their own. Having Rae not being human in this book was a fascinating change to the story dynamic. Opal did an amazing job fleshing out this world and giving us more lore and background information. It felt really tangible as she described how this world came to be as dangerous as it was. And getting to see the twins and witness their (re)naming was so sweet. I can't wait for their book!

The grumpy/sunshine trope is alive and well in this book and I am here for it! Merikh is the king of dirty talk. From that first chase scene, I knew these two were filthy and that it was gonna continue to only get hotter. And I assure you, it definitely did. 🥵

I eagerly await the next book in this series. Opal has really hit her stride with them, and I cannot wait to see where it goes! I'm ready for more hot Duskwalkers.
