Very informative! I truly appreciated how detailed Robert Royal was in his descriptions of procedures and statistics of the Swiss, the Papal States, and neighboring nations both ally and antagonist, it really painted a fuller picture of yesteryear. I also appreciated the time he spent creating context to historic events that I would have been otherwise lost without. I will say that my one complaint is the frequent lack of criticism directed at the Swiss and the Vatican, which often made complex international situations seem one-sided. Otherwise, I'm very grateful for the rich history I've been introduced to.
