These books were a real guilty pleasure.
I read them all, could not get enough, that doesn't mean they are good.
Some parts are, and most parts are just ... he's a bird right?

This series definitely got to the point where it was time to turn in the towel, and I think that time came and went a little while ago.

Kurz-Meinung:

Meine Wertung:
5 von 5 Sternen

I've waited a long time to read this one, having read all the House of Night books up to it. It did not disappoint and I'm very much looking forward to the next one!

8% in and a cat dies. FOR CRYING OUT BLOODY LOUD. COULD YOU JUST NOT? Bet peta is all over you're butt. God damnit
21% God I am so mad I bought this book.

What a load of crap.
Not even going to sugar coat this, but it was just soo boring. The story lines the same. Evil woman that was nice and sickly sweet girl with back up. Its just a snooze. I hate the fact I won't read the end of the series because I cannot stomach buying this book again.. And I say again because the story hasn't changed one bit.

very disappointed

I swore that the previous book of this series would be my last one, but I still couldn't resist when I saw this book in the library. I don't really regret reading it, but it just wasn't that great. There was even one moment that I actually thought about not finishing it. This book had some better moments, but most of all literally nothing happened. I feel like they have been fighting Neferet and her Darkness for more than five books now. Then they just always have a circle at the end en the elements fix everything for them. I don't know if I'm reading the next one, but I probably will. I just want to see this series end.

Waaay too much awful awful poetry in this one.

Kalona is much more bearable now he's not obsessed with Zoey.

The writing did seem fo improve over the last coupe of books but it took a serious nose dive in this one and also fell back on over explaining everything like we're not ten books deep at this point.

Also the dialogue felt particularly clunky and weird. See: teenagers sincerely describing sex as 'making love' regularly.
