This book checked all the boxes for me. I really didn't like Ursula in the first book, there's a reason for that, and in this book, she got to be herself and try to reconnect with her magic. Xavier is a Fae Prince who has to get a perfect kiss so he can break his enchantment. Getting to watch them forge a friendship together and then a relationship was delightful.

this was so much fun!!! ursula deserves the world and it was so satisfying watching her find happiness and make amends with her family. i loved the fantastical elements of this, sure it wasn’t that detailed but it was just enough to give me an idea of the world, and the fact that it’s set in NJ is so silly i love it. i am not a huge fan of the mmc makes a unilateral decision that affects them both trope but ill allow it this once bc xavier is cute

This was such a cute read- full of whimsy and magic. Having met Ursula in the first book and then getting quite irritated at her behaviour throughout, I appreciated how this installment of the Elemental Love series showed how Ursula took accountability for her actions and redeemed herself. Lots of hearts and flowers in the figurative sense with this story but I didn’t mind that at all. I also appreciated how the smaller details of the story (eg. chocolate letter spell and origins of the enchantment) were woven into the context of the wider plot. Definitely looking forward to the next installment in this series! 😊

sweet, warm and cozy fantasy romance (if cozy fantasy and romantasy had a child, actually!). Can be read without having read the preceding book and works as a standalone novel. I wanted a little bit higher stakes, all of the struggles resolved all too easily, but still a charming romance story. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the free advance copy.
