The excellent world building from the first book continues and is expanded.

Ril believes himself too damaged to belong to the woman who is the daughter of his original master. When Lizzy is kidnapped by slavers, he’s the only one who can feel where she is.

We meet a different sylph society and secondary characters.

As entertaining and original as the first book, this is the story of Lizzie, Leon's oldest daughter, and Ril, Leon's wounded battler.

Lizzie gets kidnapped and sent off to a country where the rules are very different, both for humans and sylphs. The sylphs are treated abominably and so are most humans, enslaved and impoverished.

Leon and Ril set out to find and rescue Lizzie, despite the impossible odds against them.

The world is very colorful yet very different from the one in the first book and our heroes manage to turn it upside down.

The series continues in the short story included in [b:A Midwinter Fantasy (Strangely Beautiful, #2.5) (Sylph, #2.5)|8041469|A Midwinter Fantasy (Strangely Beautiful, #2.5) (Sylph, #2.5) (The Magic Knot, #3)|Leanna Renee Hieber|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1274287044s/8041469.jpg|12670272] about Mace.
