Loved. Read in one day. Her stories, and their sweet, magical characters just enthrall me.

I'm not sure how I did this, but I have now read this twice. That's what I get for forgetting to mark it in Goodreads! I enjoyed the book just as much the second time as the first. The first time was on my e-reader, and I enjoyed it in book form more. SAE's books are so whimsical and airy, that I think a book "feels" better.

An overused descriptive with this author, but there's no avoiding it: simply enchanting.

Lucky for me, I have an affinity for good covers (note: this cover was not the one I picked up), and thus, I discovered Sarah Addison Allen.

Her affinity for a touch of magic in her stories made me all the more intrigued that I purchased (and loved) her two additional books.

While no, it isn't a complex story line with a great lesson, her books are magical in a way I could only hope to ever write.

This particular book did start out a bit slow, but the ending surprised me quite a bit.

I couldn't put this book down, nor her other two. I adore her writing style, and I look forward to reading her future books.

I really liked this book about change and how sometimes it's just easier not to make changes that are needed because it's scary. Sometimes we need a push. The Characters were great how they all were connected and there at the precisely right time for each other.

This is orobably may favorite of Allen's books because of the relationships between the characters, and the slight, but not unforeseeable twists in the plot. Allen's writing style and story telling really brought me into the story as if I were a part of it, which is magic in and of itself.

Like Garden Spells, this is a great blend of magic, the supernatural, and romance. This second book had a bit of fairy tale to it also. Very enjoyable - like good wine or chocolate.

Typically a fan of Allen’s stories but this one felt haphazard and I really didn’t vibe with how the fat MC was portrayed. She was hiding food in her closet and binging but it was just a cute quirk
