I loved this one 🥹 I definitely can see some of the flaws, but I don’t care. It had the painful moments and heartbreak and then, it had so many feel good moments. Connor was the man Ellie and Hadley deserved. The way he treats Ellie and all he does for Hadley from the jump was everything. Man, he’s just a good guy and I was here for it.

What a kismet story about Connor and Ellie. 8 years ago, Connor had a night with a woman, his angel, and then the next morning, he went to basic. Now a retired Navy seal, he and his 3 brothers have to go bury their abusive dad. As fate turns out, he needs to stay in town . He finds out that the same very girl is his new neighbor who is married and has a little girl. This story had a lot of very fantasized moments with the way their lived woven into each other. Some of it I felt was a little far-fetched, so it made me not fully invest in some of the story.  Connor and his brothers are pretty messed up from their dad and seem to all have broken hearts in this town.  Ellie is such a sweet soul who tries her best with her abusive husband. Hadley is their amazing little girl who befriends Connor the moment she meets him. I loved that little girl and the friendship she has with Connor and how protective he is immediately of them with her husband. The muffle kinda stalled out for me and then revved back up at the end, so it was very intense to start it coasts and finally get to a destination. I'm excited to see all these brothers make amends and fall.

Caution: This story contains domestic abuse.

Connor and Ellie had one night together 8 years ago--one night when they both wanted to forget what was going on in their lives, and they didn't even exchange names. Fast forward to present day, and Connor has to return to the family farm he never wanted to return to. His abusive father has died. In order for his three brothers and him to inherit the farm so they can sell it, they have to each spend 6 months on the farm. Connor is first.

He meets a 7-year-old girl in his old tree house, and she leads him to her mother at the next farm. Her mother is the woman from 8 years ago, the woman he couldn't forget. She's now married. They shouldn't be attracted to each other, but they still are.

But Ellie has some deep secrets. And Connor has one, too. One I didn't see coming.

This book kept me turning the pages, and I can't wait to read the books about the rest of the brothers.

Meh. I don’t know what it was but after 53% through, I was bored. I loved Connor and loved that Kevin got what he deserved. There was just something that was lacking for me once I got further into the book. I just think this story had so much potential, but I was begging to be done with it by 85% through.

I’m also not saying that every book needs to be spicy to be good, but Corinne is a TEASE. What I thought was going to be an explosive spice scene turned into what would be blue balls if I had the capability 😅 I would’ve just preferred to have gone without any spice tbh.

3.5/5 ⭐️

I don’t know how I missed this series by Corinne! This is the first book in this series and really sets the tone. Connor comes from a troubled past with a horrible father. And Ellie is not dealt a good hand in life. This book is a one nightstand second chance romance. Their night together they made a pact no names, no promises. Well, eight years later they meet again. This was such a heartfelt story with some sensitive subjects as well. Please read trigger warnings before jumping in.

Now to continue the series!

This story is absolutely beautiful and full of heart. It is endearing and so emotionally captivating I could not put this book down. It hits all the emotions and doesn't let up. I love these characters. They are so well developed and I fell for them easily. I definitely can't wait to read more from this author.
