An interesting guide to being a girl in this modern age, from a witty and hilarious author.

This book was basically an entire guide on handling sexism, dealing with relationships, fighting prejudice, etc. etc. etc. told in a fun and witty format with tons of pictures and jokes.

It was a lively, fun read, and I finished it quickly. I would recommend this novel to any teenage girl who needs some guidance in her life. Or, really, anyone at all who wants to learn more about the general concept of feminism if they don't already have a basic knowledge on it. Or anybody who wants to understand about some of the issues that girls are experiencing in this day and age.

3.5 out of 5.

When I first picked this up I didn't realize that it wasn't intended for me necessarily as an audience. It's geared toward teenage girls. But I still loved it and I still think this should be the new realistic, honest, desireable curriculum for all young girls. Forget that silly pamphlet you got at 12 years old!

Though it wasn’t packed with as much facts and evidence as other feminism books, I enjoyed the light and airy feel of this book. Very positive!

a decent read, some of the arguments were a bit questionable tho. I liked the tongue in cheek humor well enough, but im glad I got it from the library instead of buying the book.

This book is definitely meant for a younger audience than me, hence the 3 stars. But it is honest, direct, funny and important and I think that if I read it 8 years ago it would’ve probably made a great deal of difference In how I viewed myself and the world.

As always Laura Bates articulates it all so clearly. She is a force for the feminist movement and eradicating sexism. This is a must have book for all teenage girls in particular and there should be more like it!

Although this book is aimed at teenage girls to women in their early twenties, I found it really useful and illuminating! Highlighting issues of sexism and what you can do about it. Brilliant.
