I got 2/3 of the way before I admitted defeat. It’s cop-aganda and the craft is also just not good…

One of my absolute favourite discworld novels sees our faithful Samuel Vimes transported back in time to become the most influential person in his own life. Shades of Les Miserables.

Pratchett has something to say in this book, I just wish I was a little clearer on what that was. The time travel is cleverly done, and a good way to get more out of familiar characters, and there is lots of musings on revolutions and street barricades that were fun, but I'm still not quite sure whether the point was that things change or that they don't.
