Korr and Ivy together were sweet, they really helped each other and seemed well matched. Got to say, it was a pleasant change to have a male virgin, normally it's the woman in books and it's weirdly fetishized but not here.

I liked the subplot surrounding Korr and his brother, their feud and how that had impacted their lives. I liked that Korr was strong but also vulnerable and able to be vulnerable and open with Ivy. The addition of Ivy having some witchy abilities was cool and I wish this was explored further and that we got to see more of what she could do and what was hinted at by the healer. It was interesting to see the comparisons between the human realms and how they treat different types of people to how the orcs treat them.

An enjoyable read.

I’m loving this series so much. Korr was adorable; I think he might be my favorite orc so far. I really liked how these two handled every issue together and how they communicated with each other.

Zoe hit it out of the park again with this book. Another beautiful story of mates finding each other. Korr rescues Ivy from certain doom. They work through personal issues together with good communication. Sweet and spicy!.

Ivy, the female human lead, is being dragged through the woods by male humans who are fellow villagers determined to kill her for being a witch and bringing poor fortune upon them. When they hear a wolf pack howl, they tie her to a tree, leaving her to be eaten to save themselves. Korr, the male orc lead, finds Ivy and rescues her, taking her to a tree house where he cleans her wounds, warms her up, and generally keeps her safe until he can take her to the mountain where the orcs live.

But Korr has a genuine fear of being stuck underground after childhood trauma and he’s just as unhappy about leaving his mate in such an “unsafe” location. His relationship with his twin is also poor and his twin might be trying to harm them…

This story is female lead POV, well written, and an interesting, character driven romance. I enjoyed Ivy’s character development, as she overcame her fears of orcs as well as her fear regarding their reaction to her magic. I enjoyed Korr’s development and the resolution to the conflict with his brother. I enjoyed the relationship development and the genuine work of the characters in finding a mutually agreeable solution to each set of concerns.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

More challenging topics. Little painful in the middle waiting for resolution
