I adore Liniers' style of artwork!
And what a fun story of things to do on a rainy day.

A really sweet beginning graphic novel. It has a nice message about getting out there and making the best of things but in a simple way that an early reader can enjoy.

A masterful cartoonist wrote this fun little book. I almost wish it wasn't branded as a "learning to read" title because if you weren't told that, you would never have guessed it.

1. Genre- International
2. Awards- None
3. Grade Level- K-2
4. I can use this book to make sure students understand the idea of a plot in a story. This is a good story for that because of the simple nature of the plot- it is very clear what the beginning, middle, and end of the story are. To make sure students fully grasp that idea, I will have students draw what they think will happen with the two girls next saturday, based on what they gathered from this saturday. The students will have to decide on the weather of the coming day and how the girls will react. This will ensure that the students understood the plot of the story and are able to create a plot on their own.
