The teenage angst is real in this.  It’s Nova and Adrian are full of it. The way they both think they’re in the right in the way they behave and in the things they believe is getting really obnoxious. I get that they both have been raised with certain propaganda around them but despite them seeing how flawed the things are they’ve been taught, they hold on to their anger and their wishes for revenge. It’s a bit annoying but I’m going to read the next book to see what’s going to happen and how the book will end.

I’m not gonna lie, this book got me in a reading slump for a while but goddamn that ending was stressful. So much action was packed into the last few chapters. I was on the edge of my seat the ENTIRE time. The miscommunication can get a bit frustrating but that is literally what I signed up for by picking up this book. I’m too invested in the characters so I’ll definitely continue reading this series.

It’s hard to assess. On one side I love this book, the storyline, the characters and just everything about it. On the other hand, I would have expected more and the ending can’t keep up with that of the first part. Still, I enjoyed every second of this book.

I found this book very entertaining, I enjoyed this book much more than its prequel. I felt like the characters were much more fleshed out, in the first book I felt like there were too many storylines for each character and it got confusing to follow. This second book, mainly focused on Nova and Adrian which made it much easier to follow; then the other renegades were seen as supporting characters instead of trying to fight for the main character. The plot and idea of this book were also far more fascinating than the first one
Spoiler in the first book we see how Nova infiltrates the Renegades which is entertaining, but in this second book, we have to see how she balances both of her lives, which is far more entertaining.
. I love how we were introduced to new characters such as the hawthorn and frostbites team but we still learned new information about older characters. Finally, the ending to this book is amazing and I can't wait to dive into the third book and see what Nova does; does she reveal who she is, does she keep living this lie her whole life?

The second book grew on me a lot, although I still could predict a lot of things. I love the diversity and uniqueness of the characters that adds a nice touch to this story. I really liked seeing thoughts and feelings of the opposing characters and how they might be more alike than they thought. The plot is filled to the brim and very intriguing so much that you can’t put the book down.  I tend to always like second books in trilogies, and this did not disappoint my expectations. The story has so many cute and interesting details that I always was interested in the situation. Although, the book is more on the heavier side of writing, it is a very worthy for reading. I am looking forward to the big reveal in the next book. <3
